The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to climb aboard the eco-buggy with Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann and Environmental Specialist Holly Giles to learn about the diverse and beautiful Florida scrub habitat at Lyonia Preserve. Along the way we’ll look for some of the amazing animals that call this habitat home, including Florida scrub jays and gopher tortoises. ** Important note: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program. ACTIVITY: The tour will take place on a hay-ride style, covered trailer with benches. There will be some easy, short walks as well. RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, you are not registered. TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary. AGES: All ages are welcome. ATTIRE: closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing for the outdoors WHAT TO BRING: water, sunscreen, and bug spray FACILITIES: There are bathroom facilities on site.
